Russia-Ukraine War: Defence Minister Shoigu Briefs President Putin On Avdiivka Battle

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu briefed President Vladimir Putin about the latest in the war against Ukraine. Putin said that Ukraine is now trying to portray its withdrawal from Avdiivka as an organised one. Shoigu told Putin that Russian forces carried out a unique operation using a pipeline to get to southern Avdiivka deep behind the enemy lines – almost 3.5 kilometres – and established a rather large foothold there, which other troops linked up with three days later. Shoigu added that Russia launched about 460 such strikes during the last 24 hours before the enemy left Avdiivka.
