Hostages held inside Dutch Cafe as armed police deployed to scene

Four people were reportedly being held hostage in a cafe in a Dutch town on Saturday morning, with police evacuating homes in the area, according to local officials. “A hostage situation involving several people is underway in a building in the centre. That is why several specialist services are on site,” said the local police on X, formerly Twitter. The municipality later clarified that four people were being at the cafe, called Petticoat.
