Police Escalate Mental Heath Call To Assault & Arrest - No Donuts For These Cops

On June 15, 2022, Deputies Miller, Bellefleur, and Deleon responded to a 911 call regarding a kidnapping. When they arrived at the residence, the defendant came outside and immediately became aggressive towards them. The woman was angry due to a perceived lack of response by the police to help her regarding the custody of her 15-year-old son, claiming that her ex-husband had kidnapped him. Throughout the interaction, the defendant repeatedly approached Deputy Deleon despite repeated instructions to keep her distance. The deputies eventually placed the woman in handcuffs, causing her to become even more combative and resist their efforts to escort her to Deputy Miller’s patrol car. Once their, as they were placing the woman in the back seat, the woman kicked Deputy Deleon square in the face. She was ultimately charged due to this action with one felony count of Battery on an Officer. She eventually pled nolo contendre / no contest.
