He admitted his crimes running the largest concentration camp, and he was responsible for the deaths of over 1 million people. He at the Nuremberg Trials would admit to his horrendous crimes, and he was the Commandant at Auschwitz for over 3 years, however he would return a number of times to carry our ruthless killing operations. After the war, Höss was sentenced to death and he was then executed inside of Auschwitz on a specially built gallows.
