Verdi ’Libera Me’ (Requiem) Julia Varady, soprano; John Pritchard conducts

To mark the Verdi Bicentenary, here is the last part of his Requiem Mass as performed in the Royal Albert Hall, London, at the First Night of the 1988 BBC Promenade Concerts. Julia Varady is the soprano soloist and the BBC Symphony Orchestra is conducted by Sir John Pritchard, at that time its Chief Conductor. The chorus is made up of the BBC Symphony Chorus, London Philharmonic Choir and Bach Choir.
