Captain Ibrahim Traoré has accused Ghana’s President Akufo-Addo of spreading falsehood.

Burkina Faso’s military head of state, Ibrahim Traore, has forcefully rejected the allegations made by Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo regarding Burkina Fasos purported involvement with Russian mercenaries, Wagner group. In an interview with Alain Foka, President Traore, without mentioning specific names, labelled the statements as false and emphasized that the accusations made last year are baseless. “Unfortunately, we have seen heads of state who fell into that lies and went to tell the lie that we supposedly gave mines in our southern part to Russia. That’s a lie,“ he said. “’Why give? If the Russians want a mine, we have our mining code. They come, they integrate and acquire licenses, they pay their taxes and everything they have to do like everyone else. So, there is nothing we give the Russians,“ he stated Akufo-Addo who was at the US-Africa Leaders Summit in Washington had said. “Today, Russian mercenaries are on our northern border. Burkina Faso has now entered into an arrangement to go along with Mali in employing the Wagner forces there”. Akufo-Addo speaking alongside United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken also alleged that Burkina Faso had offered the Russians a mine as payment. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Let’s come together in reasonable dialogue to honour our ancestors and reclaim the world through an African lens.
