California Landslides Decimate Luxury Homes On Monday, a powerful landslide tore down ten luxury homes on Southern California’s Palos Verdes Peninsula as residents were given just 20 minutes to evacuate before their properties were destroyed. The cause of the landslide is still unknown, although a fissure caused by underground water collected from last winter’s heavy rains may be responsible.
