Starmer and Macron’s secret talks on EU ‘associate membership’ for Britain - brokered by Tony Blair

Tony Blair has been accused of orchestrating a secret plot to reverse Brexit by setting up a meeting between Labour leader Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris. The former Prime Minister, who is a staunch Remainer, is said to have used his influence and contacts in the EU to arrange the talks on Tuesday, where the pair exchanged gifts and discussed their shared vision for Europe. A Whitehall source claimed that Blair believes that “reversing Brexit can be a vote-winner” and is pushing Starmer to adopt a more pro-EU stance. The source told the Daily Mail: “Blair is trying to convince Starmer that the more he edges towards saying Brexit is a disaster, the better Labour will do.
