One way is the method of using a used molded foam from another model of car. I went to a car junkyard and found a backrest foam base of similar density. To tell the truth I do not like to take on this kind of job,because it is time consuming. The customer requested me to restore his seats. The task starts out by checking the springs system. The spiral springs are attached to the edge of the frame on the lower part. Fortunately, the spiral springs were still in good shape including its green plastic layer. I only had to repair one support edge. The springs had carved through the foam cushion seat. Those cracks were glued down and its whole base was covered with a hard grey cloth.
