Simulation of silicon carbide particles settling in saline water using Fluidity
A multiphase flow simulation of silicon carbide particles settling in saline water. The adaptive unstructured mesh-based approach is able to focus numerical resolution only where it is needed.
The simulation was performed using an open-source computational fluid dynamics code called Fluidity, developed at Imperial College London. See the paper by Jacobs et al. (2013) for more details:
