A janitor named Fraron Cornelius shot each of the men, then led police on a car chase before crashing and shooting himself. It is not clear why Fraron would want to kill the two coworkers; according to a sheriff’s department official, “we don’t know if it was pre-planned or a target of opportunity, but he did walk by a number of people in between.“
