Patrice Lumumba: A Revolutionary Feared by the West
On 30 June 1960, as he sat listening to King Baudouin of Belgium deliver his address to the assembled dignitaries in Léopoldville on the Congo’s independence day, the new prime minister, Patrice Lumumba, became increasingly agitated, scribbling notes furiously.
