Blood supply to the large bowel (anatomy)

The superior and inferior mesenteric arteries supply blood from the abdominal aorta to the large bowel via the left, middle and right colic arteries, among others. There are some significant anastomoses here via the marginal artery (of Drummond) and a watershed area that is at risk of ischaemia with very low systemic blood pressure.
