KISS THIS tribute & Dave Comer, feat Mitch Weissman - “Mr. Make Believe“ Gene Simmons ’78 solo cover

“Mr. Make Believe“ Written by Gene Simmons Filmed & Directed by Al Baker Edited by Al Baker & John Jeffrey Recording mixed by David Julian Video features KISS THIS! “WNY“ (John Jeffrey - acoustic/electric guitar, Taylor Stursa - bass guitar, Kevin Blakita - electric guitar, Billy Eberts - drums) & Dave Comer (lead vocals & lead guitar) with special guest, Mitch Weissman (recreating the background vocals he sang on the original Gene Simmons 1978 solo album). The video was done in tribute to fallen KISS Army member, Abrielle Lynch. Abrielle fought a courageous battle with cancer for four years and passed away on March 25th, 2024, at the very young age of 10 years old. Abrielle was an ’old soul’ who left us much too soon, and we hope anyone who has children going a similar battle or if you are fighting your own battle, we hope our new version of this great Gene Simmons deep cut and this video connects with you on some level. Additional video footage was supplied by Jim Lloyd from Making Memories Last Forever and Bob Ridgley from Binary Recording studios. A benefit is being held to help offset the tremendous medical bills the family has endured, in Syracuse, NY on Saturday, April 13th, from 1-5pm, at the VFW post located at 2000 Lemoyne Avenue. For additional information, you can send an e-mail to Abriellestrog4@. They are also accepting donations through Venmo at Abrielle Strong@Abrielle-Strong. Special thanks to the Making Memories Last Forever organization (especially Tera Di Leo & Samantha Wilhauck) for giving us the privilege to get to meet and know Abrielle, and to Dave Bunts from Buntsy’s Band Stand (Webster, NY), for making it possible to film the video at his establishment. We also want to thank Anthony Blood, who was holding his open mic that night and did everything to accommodate all of our needs. We would also like to acknowledge the KISS THIS! crew (Diana MacDonald, Sandra Bell, Monica Ogle & Kenny Lepage) for their continued hard work and thank you to the Rochester music scene supporters - The Cats Eye Lens (Kerri Cooley) & the Rochester Rock Brigade (Scott Pellingra, Dawn Marie & Snoozer) and EVERYONE who came out in support the night the video was filmed.
