Israel has found itself walking a diplomatic tightrope over the Russia-Ukraine crisis, as it enjoys ties with both Russia and Ukraine. On one hand, it is home to the biggest Russian-speaking diasporas and Moscow allows Tel Aviv to operate in Syria’s airspace. But there’s also the fact that Ukraine’s President is Jewish and that US lawmakers are frustrated with Israel not throwing its weight behind the US-led Western stance against Moscow.
