This is a bit of a look at my experience getting hired for my first real full time concept art job, and things that I learned from the experience. This was from a time before art schools or universities would teach game development, so much was just learned on the job. I recommend getting a job at a smaller, less prominent studio instead of going to university to learn game development. You will learn far more making games, than paying money to hear about what its like.
