Mauna Loa Volcano Eruption Update; Route 200 at Risk, Lava Advances Down the Volcano

Due to the advancing lava flows at Mauna Loa, one of Hawaii’s main roads is at risk; Route 200. This road goes between the Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea volcanoes and could be partially inundated by lava in as little as several days. As of day 3 of the eruption, Mauna Loa’s effusion rate has remained high, and activity partially propagated to a 4th and new fissure. This video will discuss Mauna Loa’s ongoing eruption and what might happen next. A special thanks and also please subscribe to: @TwoPineapples, who graciously allowed me to use his livestream footage. He regularly livestreams Kilauea’s and now Mauna Loa’s volcanic eruptions.
