The Rusty Nails - Did You Let That One Get Away

Текст с Bandcamp’а: “Recorded on a 4-track in 1996. Made sense to start this compilation with this track since it was my humble 4-track recording demos where the whole idea of “The Rusty Nails“ began. This is one of two tracks from the first self-titled album I put out back in ’96 that I still like (it is also the only song without bagpipes on this comp). My singing wasn’t the greatest then but the sincerity is there for this track. Of the 5 full-length RN albums, the first self-titled album is clearly my least favorite but I still like this track and the one that follows it here on this compilation (“Anne Passes Me By“). As they say, you got to start somewhere. Hey, you’re too shy, don’t lie, don’t know what to say. And did you let that one get away? I know it gets harder and harder. And you’d rather not bother. So you get higher and higher only to come down. Hey, you’re too shy, don’t lie, don’t know what to say. And did you let that one get away? I know no one seems to get it, and your conscience gets guilty. So you get flat out pissed drunk, only getting sick. Some things shouldn’t go on unsaid but some things should go on unsaid. Hey, you’re too shy, don’t lie, don’t know what to say. And did you let that one get away? from History In The Rust (the best of The Rusty Nails), released September 18, 2016 All instruments, vocals, etc performed by the 26 year-old version of Brett Alexander Boye. Recorded at “Your Mom’s“ recording studio in Downingtown, PA by Arik Victor and Mike Bardzik in July & August of 1996.“
