Made sense to start this compilation with this track since it was my humble 4-track recording demos where the whole idea of “The Rusty Nails“ began. This is one of two tracks from the first self-titled album I put out back in ’96 that I still like (it is also the only song without bagpipes on this comp). My singing wasn’t the greatest then but the sincerity is there for this track. Of the 5 full-length RN albums, the first self-titled album is clearly my least favorite but I still like this track and the one that follows it here on this compilation (“Anne Passes Me By“).
