OLYMPIC FLAME - Oil Painting On Real Cooper by Daria Kolosova
Fire is the most important turning point in the history of human development. Myths and legends present a divine version of its origin, historians adhere to a logical one, relying on archaeological research. Meanwhile, the fire, for many centuries in a row, continues to hypnotize fascinated glances to itself.
Symbolizing energy, heroism, spiritual and vitality, it is one of the talismans of the most ancient sporting events - the Olympic Games.
Traditionally lit in the Greek city of Olympia from the sun, it
with the help of torches it is carefully delivered to the main stadium of the Games during the opening ceremony, where it is lit in a special bowl at the stadium. The Olympic flame burns until the close of the Olympics and symbolizes purity, perfection, the struggle to win, as well as peace and friendship.
Almost 3000 years ago, in 776 BC, a fire was lit in ancient Greece and the first Olympiac Game was held. Today the fire blazes majestically again, captured by artist Daria Kolosova
