Twitter: @MTGHistory These four TV Spots aired on MTV during the Summer of 1997 (starting July 8th) The commercials starred 4 high-profile Pro Tour players: Mark Justice, Mike Long, Shawn “Hammer“ Regnier & Brian Hacker. The players are supposedly particpating in the fictional “MTV Invitational“. These were made in an attempt by Wizards of the Coast to reach a wider, more “mainstream“ audience with Magic: The Gathering.
