Brandon Tanev scored a shorthanded goal with a ton of patience. That was a great reward for him for what was a very solid and “Brandon Tanev“-like evening. Jake Guentzel tallied a goal to tie the game, 2-2, giving Guentzel points in six of his last seven games (4G-6A) against Washington. His 15 career points (6G-9A) against the Capitals are his second-most against any one team (Columbus, 16 points). Tristan Jarry stopped 30 of 33 shots. The Capitals scored into an empty net twice.
