US Army 3rd Infantry Division | Rock of the Marne

The 3rd Infantry Division, is a combined arms division of the United States Army based at Fort Stewart, Georgia. It is a direct subordinate unit of the XVIII Airborne Corps and U.S. Army Forces Command. The 3rd Division was activated on 21 November 1917, seven months after the American entry into World War I at Camp Greene, North Carolina. The 3rd Division is the only division of the U.S. Army during World War II that fought the Axis on all European fronts, and was among the first American combat units to engage in offensive ground combat operations.
