Restored footage from circa 1939 of a camera mounted on a vehicle driving on a road traveling away from the US Capitol in Washington, D.C. This was background footage filmed for use in process shots in the Frank Capra directed film “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” starring James Stewart and Jean Arthur. A process shot is when the actors are filmed performing in front of a screen with pre-recorded background footage projected on it.
