Naude spotted a young seal with a ball of fishing line wrapped around its neck. The entanglement looked very fresh, there was no sign of injury to the seal’s skin. The line had cut into the fur, but not into the skin yet. He quickly grabbed the seal by his back flipper and pinned it down with his hands. While holding it down, he took out his Leatherman Raptor Rescue Tool and cut the loop of the fishing line. The seal was free to go thanks to the rescuers from Ocean Conservation Namibia.
