Israeli air strikes on the Palestinian enclave continued into its seventh day. Explosions flared around Gaza in the early hours of Friday (October 13) morning. As per health authorities, more than 1,500 people were killed including scores of children. Israel has been bombarding Gaza in retaliation for a Hamas attack in southern Israel. Israel’s public broadcaster Kan said the Israeli death toll had risen to more than 1,300. It is the most intense attack Israel has ever directed at Gaza, which is only 40 km long. War-hit Gaza is home to 2.3 million people, living in cramped cities and refugee camps.
