Why Performing On The World’s Largest Lake Stage Is So Difficult
This summer, the largest lake stage in the world will host one of the most famous Italian operas: a production of Giacomo Puccini’s “Madame Butterfly“ with a very special stage design. Canadian stage designer Michael Levine has designed a gigantic painted sheet of paper with a warped surface that rises, almost weightless, above Lake Constance — a challenge especially for those who are to play and sing on it.
We accompanied one of the singers to find out how they get on.
