Homes To Be Aka Ideal Homes Exhibition (1964)

London. A look at labour saving gadgets of the future for use around the home. We see a Japanese lady standing by a waterwheel, move to girls sat around in bathing costumes having a barbecue. We see a display of plastic trees with water cascading down them and various shots of flowers, one woman waters a hanging basket. Another woman goes into one of the homes and shows off the central heating controls as well as new lighting systems. Other new gadgets include a solar controlled venetian blind, safety rings to hold pans on top of the stove, a sewing machine which embroiders and an automatic iron.
