GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Canadiens () | Crosby and Letang Reach Milestones

After defeating a streaking Anaheim team, the Penguins turned their attention to the Montreal Canadiens. Kasperi Kapanen got things started with an odd, yet excellent goal: after a hard shot bounced off of Montreal net minder Jake Allen, Evan Rodrigues kicked the puck towards the goal, high in the air. With Allen moving his glove over to snag it, Kasperi Kapanen reached in and essentially bunted the puck out of the glove and over Allen’s outstretched hand. Evan Rodrigues blasted a one-timer top-corner off a Letang pass to put the Penguins up 2-0 on the power play. Letang’s assist was his 600th NHL point, and he is only the seventh active defenseman to reach this milestone. According to NHL PR, out of those seven active defensemen to reach 600 points, Letang accomplished the feat the second-fastest (887 GP), behind only Erik Karlsson (730 GP).
