NASA Science Live: Moon to Mars Ice and Prospecting Challenge

NASA Science Live is back and we’re LIVE from the Moon to Mars Ice & Prospecting Challenge. Ten teams from across the country have been tasked with one goal: to extract ice beneath a simulated lunar or Martian surface. As we look forward to NASA’s Artemis program to the Moon and even one-day crewed missions to Mars, ideas from challenges like this will be essential in creating technology to access resources like water for humans to survive on other worlds. In 2018, Alejandro joined the Space Mission Analysis Branch at NASA Langley, working on in-situ resource utilization, propulsion, and Moon and Mars mission architectures.
