RUSSIA: CHECHNYA: BOMBARDMENT OF GROZNY UPDATE

Natural Sound Russian troops have unleashed a savage artillery bombardment on the Chechen capital Grozny as President Boris Yeltsin’s security chief flew in to try to head off the storming of the city. Moscow’s strongman Alexander Lebed held talks with separatist military commander Aslan Maskhadov on Wednesday after meeting with the Russian military command. The Russian forces have given civilians until 8 A-M (0400 GMT) Thursday to leave Grozny or face a devastating aerial attack. Heavy fightin
