He first came to prominence when he won the UEFA Cup and Champions League with Porto in consecutive seasons. Having beaten Celtic 3-2 in 2003, Mourinho’s men went onto win Europe’s premiere competition by defeating Didier Deschamps’ Monaco in the Champions League a year later. His success at Porto didn’t go unnoticed and in the summer of 2004, moved to Chelsea where he would manage the Blues in the first of two spells.
