Gaza hospital holds event to help children with war trauma

Gaza’s Shuhada Al-Aqsa Hospital hosted an event on Saturday for children experiencing trauma from the Israel-Hamas conflict. Children gathered together to play with anything that came to hand, including blowing up medical gloves to use as balloons. Reham Abu Rakba, a psychologist at the hospital, explained, ‘Many of them have been rescued from the rubble, witnessing the distressing scenes of body parts, martyrs, and the injured, all of which have significantly affected their psychological well-being.’ ‘Both children and adults are likely to grapple with considerable post-war psychological challenges, underscoring the urgent need for substantial efforts in the field of mental health,’ she added
