Making a Viking Apron Dress or Smokkr

Hello My Historical Fashion Friends! Here it is, the long awaited Smokkr video! I finally finished the woven hem, and the full video on that will be coming out soon! I am working on making the set for both an Early Anglo-Saxon Get Ready with Me, and a Viking one. I realized I didn’t notate how I got my measurements. I am going to be making a blog shortly with written details, but for the front and back pieces I measured once across from the inside of my shoulder joint to the other, then used 2x that to equal front and back, then subtracted my bust and split the remaining figure in half to get the width of the top of the side pieces. After that, its on to my 14th century kirtle video. You may have already seen some photos of that on Instagram. A good resource for some Smokkr reading with good notation on sources. #ev-haithabu Instagram: @ Musi
