Hypnosis and Beyond [William Shatner Schlockumentary] [1980] [VHS] [Not My Rip]

From the cusp of the pseudointellectual pseudoscientific insanity that was the late ’70s / early ’80s comes this likely-less-than-enlightening schlockumentary into HYPNOSIS AND BEYOND! A barely-middle-aged Bill Shatner hosts this labor of no love for the audience from the creative duo of Allan Sandler and Robert Emenegger, who cranked out more than a dozen psychotronic exploitation and documentary flicks around the same time, including “Death: The Ultimate Mystery, UFOs: It Has Begun“, and several no-budget sci-fi outings usually starring some combination of Cameron Mitchell, Peter Mark Richman and/or Gretchen Corbett. Oh, and did I mention their primary producing partner was Steven Spielberg’s less-talented sibling, Anne? Yes, this is the closest Shatner ever got to being in an actual Spielberg film, so it’s worth it for that alone.
