Our hero visits a village shop where he used to billeted. He introduces “Mrs Jacobs“ the shopkeeper to his wife and children. It is a nice old fashioned corner shop. “Bluey“ takes his wife to a pub he used to frequent and they have a drink with the landlord. There are pictures behind the bar of the servicemen who used the pub during the war and of American aircraft. Bluey tries to find out what happened to the car he used to drive in England. He visits the garage where he sold the car in 1943 but the owner doesn’t know where the car is now.
The family feed wild ponies on Dartmoor. They continue their road trip and drive through the countryside. When his wife Margaret gets a little chilly he turns up the car’s heater. They visit Mevagissey, Polperro and Portloe.
