Syria: Memorial concert honours those martyred during liberation of Palmyra
The Roman amphitheatre of Palmyra was lit up on Friday for a special concert dedicated to the lives lost during the city’s liberation, after the Syrian Army recaptured the ancient city from the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) with the help of Russian airstrikes, earlier in April.
Among the performances was the Syrian national symphony and Mary’s orchestra, an all women Syrian musical band. Syrian Minister of Culture Issam Khalil and Syrian Minister of Tourism Bishr Riyad Yazigi also
