Cameron Carpenter and his International Touring Organ | Impressions from a concert in Berlin

The organ as a larger-than-life experience: That’s how Cameron Carpenter describes his instrument. Carpenter’s organ is truly unique. He plays on his self-created International Touring Organ, which is both mobile and also a super computer with a built-in 72-channel digital sound system. With this instrument Carpenter revolutionized organ-playing. Since February 2021, Carpenter and his instrument have been completing a long-term residency in the Alte Münze in Berlin. This video shows parts of an organ concert that took place in summer 2021 at the Alte Münze. The program includes organ pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach as well as Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition in a version specially prepared by Carpenter for the International Touring Organ.
