A Years Hard Labour Rewarded Aka A Year’s Hard Labour Rewarded (1925)

Item title reads - A year’s hard labour ..... rewarded! Closing days of 1925 sees last of smaller vessels of sunken German Fleet raised and broken up by Messrs. Cox and Danks. Scapa Flow, The Orkneys. L/S as the camera pans across one of the salvaged German ships as men dismantle it. M/S of one man cutting through the metal with a blow torch. L/S as another cuts the gun away from the deck and lifts it into the air, it swings across to the dock. Intertitle - ’miles of valuable copper tubes, weighing tons, have been recovered after nearly 7 years beneath the sea.’ L/S as the tubes are lifted on a crane and lowered to the ground with some others. Intertitle - ’carved up like cheese.’ A large section of the ship is lifted upwards on the crane, various shots as it is swung across and laid on the dock.
