YOUR LOWER TRAP COULD BE THE MISSING LINK IN YOUR SHOULDER PAIN

[Exercise Education] . Let’s keep rolling along with the topic of the scapula and how it affects the shoulder🤓. Since we disected the shrug we have been talking about ways to counteract the shoulder blade downward rotation that happens with the shrug😟. If you missed why downward rotation could be a problem recap the last 2 posts so you know the purpose of this exercise. . In these vids 📽I am demonstrating an exercise which uses loaded shoulder flexion to increase lower trap activity and recruitment (although of course other players are involved lower trap is the main intended muscle of activation here)😊. The lower trap is an important player in scapular function, it works to increase upward rotation of the scapula along with posterior tilting which is another desired position of the shoulder blade😏. We will talk about the importance of shoulder blade posterior tilting along with the 3rd exercise in this 3 part exercise series. Stay tuned for the finale🔌.
