In this video I will walk you through how to create textured lighting inside Blender. This is an easy way to create unique shadows like leaves, blinds and more.
In this case I used an area light with a free stock image from to act as the texture. In the shader editor I can check us nodes and I will be given an emission and output node.
I will plug the image texture into the strength of the emission shader. I will also use another node called the geometry node. Plug the parametric slot into the vector in the image texture.
Lastly I can add a colour ramp to crunch the blacks and whites of the texture.
Also make sure the spread of the area light is set to a low degree otherwise the light will just blend into one.
