DHL Fastest Pit Stop Award: Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2021 (Red Bull Racing/Verstappen)

One thing is for sure after the Formula 1 season opener in Bahrain - the Red Bull mechanics have returned from the winter break just as sharp as ever. In the first race of the 2021 calendar, the reigning winners of the DHL Fastest Pit Stop Award immediately laid down a marker of their intent to defend the title. It only took the Red Bull mechanics five pit stops to crack the two-second mark for the first time this year, with Max Verstappen being dispatched in seconds on his second and final pit stop in the Bahrain GP. The reigning champions thus booked the first DHL Fastest Pit Stop of the season. The second-fastest pit stop also went to the Red Bull crew: in the first pit stop of the season, they changed the tires on Sergio Perez’s car in just seconds.
