Facts about the vikings that kids should know about but in order not to make the information seem boring, the story being told to them should be exciting and this happens through the way it is presented to them.
There are some facts related to the life of the vikings which would sound interesting when the kids know about them but in order to succeed at such a thing, you as a parent should tell them the story in a different kind of way or else depend on any of the educational resources and videos that would let them listen to the story and be waiting for the rest of it.
In this video, Aaron is being the storyteller who is telling the facts of the vikings regarding their origins, what they used to wear, the swords they used, etc. One important thing to pay attention to when you are choosing the voice of the kid who will do the voice over for you which is to make him sound interesting while telling the story.
The vikings originally came from Sweden, Denmark and Norway and then they sailed with their ships to reach other parts of the world. They sailed through the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, they reached the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland and they even reached North America.
The vikings had their specific clothes, the ships which they designed themselves and which differ in the design and the size ( The vikings wear specific clothes especially when they are preparing for a battle, it is about the cloak, the knife belt, the leather shoes and the helmet. You will always realize that the vikings treated their swords as part of their families, they always walked around with their axes, the knives and their shields.
When it comes to the long viking ship, there are some facts which the kids are supposed to be informed with. The long viking ships are huge, they measure 30 metres, they can travel 18 miles per hour, they can carry on up to 60 men and they can even sail in shallow waters so that they could travel up rivers. The vikings longships are built from the finest oak and they always have this dragon head that is situated at the front of the ship which is believed to scare any enemies away.
Since the vikings come from the Scandinavian part of the world, they used to have cooler temperatures and thus traveled to England to have a better land of farm.
