One of the worst guards was executed as the Second World War was still going on, and Paul Hoffman was known as a beast for his murderous actions. He had a disregard for the life of the prisoners and worked in many areas including the camp’s crematoria. He was known for burning female prisoners alive, and also helping in the executions at the camp each day. But Hoffman would be captured as Majdanek was liberated by the Soviets and he was then placed on trial and was sentenced to death. He was executed on a gallows in front of a large crowd.
