Israeli soldiers fired gas bombs and stun grenades, leading to a large fire in a market in al-Bireh city in the central occupied West Bank. This happened after clashes erupted between Israeli soldiers and residents in the crowded al-Bireh market. Israeli forces also delayed the entry of civil defence equipment for a full hour, which allowed the fire to spread further in the area. A commercial building housing about a hundred shops was completely burned down, and the central area of al-Hisba (the vegetable market) was also entirely destroyed. Nearby buildings suffered severe damage. The al-Bireh market covers approximately 7,000 sqm, with the vegetable market occupying 2,000 sqm of that area. Source: Global News (EU, USA)
