Linking words in English are important!
Linking words (also known as connectors or connecting words) are extremely useful for English learners to add to their vocabulary because they help us to express our ideas more clearly and form longer, more advanced sentences.
However, in real spoken English, native speakers don’t use most of the linking words that many teachers (and exercise books) teach in traditional English classes.
So, in this video I list the nine linking words that native English speakers really use in real English on a day to day basis.
More formal linking words are useful (and I’ll make a video on those soon) but it’s important to differenciate between which words are common in formal, written English and which are common in more colloquial, spoken English.
