Miniature Furniture (1959)

Harold Hill, Essex. Various shots show three men looking at blueprints and checking measurements on small pieces of wood in a workshop. C/U of a man carving a pattern on a piece of furniture as commentator explains this cabinet makers makes reproduction Hepplewhite, Sheraton and Queen Anne furniture in miniature. Several shots of men working on the small pieces of furniture; they are all to a scale of one eighth the original size. A young girl is seen placing a miniature Crown Derby tea service on a miniature dinner table; other pieces of small furniture make up this Georgian dining room, including a detailed cocktail cabinet complete with tiny hinges and locks. In a Queen Anne bedroom scene, we see a miniature dressing table with authentic handles on the drawers and a bed.
