National Kitchen (1914-1918)

National Kitchen opens. London. Various shots arrival of Lord Mayor and other officials. Some of them walk towards camera between lines of boys in military uniforms. CU Mayor talking to army officer. MS parade. Long line of people wait across street as boys come marching down, first a few with drums and bugles; then rest of the boy cadets. Other boys; mostly younger; run alongside in the street; and also run after the marchers. People crowd together in street, young children; old ladies; etc; some policemen stand in the street as well. MS people filing in. Officials walk past row of little cadets. Ends with CU sign about the Kitchen; including menu with items like Vegetable Pasties and Treacle Sponge. Cheap prices; just a few pence for each item. .
