Turn Scrap Metal into a Mini Medieval Sword for Letter Opener

In this video I make a mini medieval sword out of a piece of Steel, Brass, and purple heart wood. The design is based on a whole bunch of different swords I saw on Google Images. This is the first time I have ever tried something like this. I trace the outline on the steel from the template that I drew and cut out on graph paper. Then I cast some brass into a mold that would give me a large enough piece to make the guard. After that I used a grinder to cut out the basic shape of the guard. Then I used the Rotary Tool to fine tune the shape. Then I heated the brass enough to tap it with the hammer for a tight fit. Finally I used the belt sander to soothe out the surface. The purple heart handle was cut down to fit the tang. Then I did a Burn Through so it would fit nice and tight. After grinding down the handle I cut a piece of brass for the pommel. Once I had the pommel glued into place I finished the handle profile to fit with the pommel. I really liked making this Sword. I learned a
