FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR (USA) vs MANNY PACQUIAO (PHI) FULL FIGHT

Welcome, guys, thanks for joining me again in this update. I hope you’re all well. So, the fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, billed as “The Fight of the Century“ or “The Battle for Greatness,“ took place on May 2nd, 2015, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This long-awaited bout was for the unified WBA (Super), WBC, and WBO welterweight titles, bringing together two of the greatest boxers of their era. So this was a battle between an Orthodox boxer from America and a Southpaw boxer from the Philippines. Mayweather was, of course, the defensive genius and Pacquiao the aggressive maestro. So Mayweather picked up the unanimous decision. He boxed well, used clean counterpunching and whenever he pot-shotted Pacquiao it was clear and evident. The pace was fought at a more comfortable pace for Mayweather. So we know tactically, Mayweather did what he wanted to do in the fight more so than Pacquiao. Pacquaio did better than what I originally thought when I watched the fight live but it wasn’t effective enough and didn’t really serve a tactical purpose. He landed excellent counters and showed aggression, it just wasn’t specific So, as the aggressive fighter, if you strike your opponent on the top of the head or on the shoulder or scuff your punches across the target area, and your aggression is not really clear-cut, then the subjective case of judging may not favor you. With Pacquiao’s style, his aggression needed to weigh on Mayweather and also be visibly debilitating to sway the judges. So guys, with Pacquaio, his effective aggression could’ve been positively received if he was able to... draw blood, mark up Mayweather’s face, create overwhelming pressure, push your Mayweather back to the ropes, or land combinations that seem to break him down. But this wasn’t really the case.
