French President Emmanuel Macron meets Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah. One of the hostages released by Hamas has described how she was beaten with sticks during her abduction, driven off on a motorbike with two Hamas fighters and forced to walk for several kilometres through a huge “spider’s web” of wet tunnels in Gaza. Sitting in a wheelchair at a chaotic press conference, Yocheved Lifschitz, 85, said: “I went through hell, I didn’t think or know I’d get to this situation.
